Agent and Client synchronization to run the netperf tool

Hello, I work on Linux Regression testing and I am writing a script to automate(shell scripting) the netperf tool when I need to determine the performance(throughput) of agent and client(individually) and I shall be running a shell script on (lets say) client first. But how to obtain the synchronization between them both as I need to execute a command even in board(agent) side to get the script going. Hope I am clear enough and hoping someone to revert back soon.

Thanks & Regards,
Karthik

Let me reiterate my scenario -
I need to run a command called netserver in the agent side(board lets say) and a command pertaining to netperf with various parameters like MTU, speed, duplex and seconds to be changed and I hence write a shell script for the latter and run it in the client side(host side lets say). Is there any way by which I could automate the netserver command on the agent side by just running my shell script executed on client side? Note: 'netserver' command on the agent side should run before any other 'netperf' command on the client side. I want a way in which it could be embedded into my shell script of netperf.

Thanks,
Karthik
