After loading a module on linux, my LAN connection is no longer present in Windows

Hi,
I am a new linux user, and just installed redhat 8. After a bit of trouble, I have my computer set up as a dual boot between Winows XP and redhat. I downloaded and installed a driver bcm440x I think it is called for my broadcom ethernet card and was finally able to get my internet connection on linux working. However now my conection no longer works in windows xp, it says a cable has been unplugged. Also the light that usually goes on when I plug the LAN cable into the rear of my computer is no longer on in windows, but is on in redhat. Any idea what could be causing this? Thanks a lot,
Chris

It's not coming from linux, so email microsof.com. And you don't have to download a driver since bcm44 is a native kernel driver...
