aegis client problems (can't connect)
my university campus has a wireless network available on certain areas of campus. they require use of aegis client to enable access (through PEAP). i downloaded the provided client in xp and installed it, configured it according to my university's instructions, and it works fine (i'm using it right now to post this message).
unfortunately, i'm not having the same luck in linux. i downloaded the aegis client from their website and installed it with no problems. i then ran the gui and configured everything the same as in windows (e.g. PEAP, password, everything exactly the same). however, whenever i try to start my wireless card (eth1) i get one of two error messages ("not associated" or "network error").
the only thing that i can think is that, for whatever reason, the wireless card is not scanning for the network. this is strange for two reasons:
1. i have a wireless setup at home, and my dell truemobile worked in linux right out of the box
2. the aegis client for windows has a button that forces a network scan--can't find it in the linux version.
so that's my problem. any help is greatly appreciated, and any quick help is even more so, as my linux aegis client will be running out its free trial soon.
