ADSL using ECI B-Focus router
hi,
I'm trying to connect to my ADSL Provider using Fedora Core 1.
The problem is that i cannot connect to the router i have (ECI B-Focus 270PR).
I can access the router using 192.168.1.1. When i try to start the connection
using windows 98 i get the ip 192.168.1.3 (DHCP) from the router and the connection to the ISP works just fine (thank god for that).
Turning to Fedora Core 1:
When i try to set up my ETH0 with DHCP (using redhat-config-network) i cannot get an IP from my router !
getting:
"Determining IP information via dhcp ... failed."
Sniffing on ETH0 (using tcpdump) shows that eth0 sends requests but no one replies !
If i try to set the eth0 with 192.168.1.3 then still i cannot get a ping to 192.168.1.1 (the router). Why ?
Pinging to myself works fine.
I'm using a 3c590 3Com Ethernet card.
Does anyone have any idea what should i do ?
I'm quite stuck at this stage (of getting the router to answer my pings or get an IP from it) so i cannot even continue to the ADSL checking stage.
Thanks you a lot !
