ADSL Setup, Verizon Online

I have Verizon DSL, it is directly connected to this computer through a nic. Here are the specs:

OS: Slax(Slackware Live)
IP Address:
DHCP server:

of course I'm not going to post the Username and Password but still giving just that information is making myself vunerable

I have a DNS problem, I can ping google's ip but not like type in and it will goto Anyone know a solution to this problem???

What is your /etc/resolv.conf? You DNS entries should be there. Seems that they are
not working? Are they really and 5? You can test them with
in a console.
