ADSL router / DHCP / Linux / Windows XP LAN

I want to configure my XP box to accept DHCP IP addresses as my router is a Netcomm Plus4 which acts as a DHCP server, however, I cannot seem to get my XP box to accept a DHCP IP Addresses, even though the settings in Local Area Network are set to DHCP enabled.
The Linux box is fine (not hard to believe), just the Window$ box does not map a DHCP IP Address - just comes up as saying 0.0.0.0 as an IP address when I boot her up - anything I misssed?
