ADSL problems -- timeout for PADO packets

Hi everyone!

I´m recently installed an ADSL connection, with a CA-61E modem router (Tainet/Amigo http://www.amigo.com.tw/products/router/AMXCA61E.htm) with Conexant Chipset.

The adsl connection is OK via USB and setting the modem in router mode (ethernet IPs), but the problem his that:

I cannot connect the modem for initiate PPPoE since other PC connected directly to this modem by a crossover cable. The report message is:

pppoe: Timeout waiting for PADO packets

I have great experiencies with another products (like Cisco, 3com,etc...) but I cannot work whit this hardware.
Some ideas for this? Or directly, we consider to discard the modem?

Regards from Argentina.
