ADSL modem/router firewall blocking legitimate traffic?

Hello :-)

Why might an ADSL modem/router block packets originating from the LAN?

I used http://www.whatsmyip.org/ports/ to test 1194 port forwarding on my router. UDP 1194 is the default OpenVPN port; the server running OpenVPN was shut down. The test was expected to show that port 1194 was open but it timed out. After the test the router "security log" showed that port 80, protocol 6 (HTTP/TCP) packets from my workstation (192.168.168.7) to the server hosting whatsmyip.org (208.79.211.112) had been blocked.

Here's the log:
Code:
Fri, 07 Jan 2011 - 18:25:13  ALARM::MINOR: 415.756 Blocked Prot=6, 192.168.168.7:44768 > 208.79.211.112:80, AF Seq=4068566740, Ack=2050345782 -No
Fri, 07 Jan 2011 - 18:24:34  ALARM::MINOR: 375.820 Blocked Prot=6, 192.168.168.7:44768 > 208.79.211.112:80, AF Seq=4068566740, Ack=2050345782 -No
Fri, 07 Jan 2011 - 18:24:15  ALARM::MINOR: 355.853 Blocked Prot=6, 192.168.168.7:44768 > 208.79.211.112:80, AF Seq=4068566740, Ack=2050345782 -No
Fri, 07 Jan 2011 - 18:24:05  ALARM::MINOR: 345.870 Blocked Prot=6, 192.168.168.7:44768 > 208.79.211.112:80, AF Seq=4068566740, Ack=2050345782 -No
Fri, 07 Jan 2011 - 18:23:56  ALARM::MINOR: 337.134 Blocked Prot=6, 192.168.168.7:44768 > 208.79.211.112:80, AF Seq=4068566740, Ack=2050345782 -No
The router is a Teracom T2-B-Gawv1.4U10Y-BI (next to no documentation there Pity because it's a nice router, more featured than most consumer models now).

Best

Charles
