ADSL modem & SUSE 9.0 DHCP client

Ok guys here is the problem. I got an ADSL LAN modem (ericsson hm 210dp) which does not work on my SUSE9.0 box unless i run yast after every reboot and mess with Network Devices/Network Card. Here i do not change anything, but only press edit and finish in order to restart the network services. The modem is a DHCP server. How do I make it run cleanly without messing with yast on every reboot.
The dhcp client in windows has no problems with the modem.

Thanks for the replies.
