ADSL connection failure "Modem hangup"

Hi Guys!

I'm on Redhat 8.0 (no GUI)Text-based. My adsl connection is giving touch time. I configured it to use dhcp-client for dynamic ip. Connections breaks each time, after a few minutes with this warning:

Modem hangup
connection terminated.
Connect time 1.3 minutes
Sent 4109 bytes, received 6615 bytes.

Earlier on, I configured the NIC to use static ip, and got the same problem. Has anyone experienced something similar?

Thanks for any help.

Mimi
