AD domains are joined using Samba. i really wouldn't expect hardly any of the prerequisites like samba to be on a splat build, and due to their nature, wouldn't like to try to add them. what are you actually trying to achieve by adding them?

Adding Linux/SPLAT machine to AD domain

Hi,

Thanks for a quick answer
I need to do that in order to test one product.

I have a security product that i can use to deploy diferent security policies to all my network.
In order to do so i need to create entities.
One of the option create it is Microsoft LDAP AD, that enables me to create connection from that application to AD and choose from there wich users/groups i want to assign with one policy and create another group with different one.
But since i have also one Linux and one SPLAT machine i have to add them to that domain.

I know it is not recomended but still i need to check this option.

I would be thankful if you could help me with Linux at least, since this one is more important to me.

Thanks again!
