Question adding ips to red hat 7.1 server

Hello
I was hoping somebody could help me here. I got several additional ips assigned to me server in addition to the ip the server is setup on. I can telnet into the ip address of the server, but I can not connect to any of the other ips. My hosting company said I have to bind the ips to the server and that I do not need the program bind to do this. Can anybody tell me the command of the file I need to edit to do this
Thanks for your time
Adam

linuxconf is the newbies friend.

1. Go into linuxconf
2. Select 'Networking / IP aliases for virtual hosts'
3. Select the interface that you want to give the ip's to (eg eth0).
4. Enter the ips that you want the redhat box to respond to.

When you exit linuxconf it should ask you if you want to run a command that reloads the network, select 'Do it'.

Redhat will then respond on eth0 when you try and ping the extra ips your isp gave you.

I just re-read your post. Did you mean that your ISP gave you those extra ips for your internal machines? How is your server setup? Is it the gateway for the other machines? Or is it just another box sitting on the network?

What is your setup exactly, we maybe able to help more if we have a few more details.
