Added 2nd router - not working

Good day all,

I just added a second router for 4 more ports, And its not working.
Here is a diagram of what I have, followed by info & questions:

Cable ----> Router#1(192.168.1.1) -------> comp1 (192.168.1.100)
- -------> comp2 (192.168.1.101)
- -------> printer (192.168.1.xxx)
- -------> comp3
-
-Router#2(192.168.1.1)-------> Comp4

Info:
- These are both Linksys BEFSR41 routers.
- Router#2 is connect with a patch cable from router #1's UPLINK to router#2's WAN.
- Router #1 has been working fine for some time.
- I upgraded the firmware in router#2, just as I did long ago with Router#1

When I go to Comp4 and type in 192.168.1.1, and login, I can access the router menu.
But it doesn't get on line, and it doesn't seem to me that I should have 2 192.168.1.1's on
the same network. Should I change it to 192.168.1.2?

Also, is there anything to router#2 I need to do inforder to tell it to just pass the info
along to router#1 instead of doing anything?

Any tips on info I should tell the 2nd router to avoid problems, & get on line?
If you need more info about this, please ask. A networking wizard I am not, so I may have
left out some info.
Thanks a lot.

If you are just trying to use it as a switch then plug the uplink into a standard ethernet port and not the wan port,

Thanks for tip - I'm going in that direction now. But quick question while I'm doing it
that way. When I do have the patch cable from router#1-uplink to router#2-port1, I loose
port1 on router#1. Normal?

'Cause if thats the case, getting 4 more ports (2nd router) only provides me with 2
additional usable ports. Router 1 only has 3 now becuase port 1 is being used when I hook
uplink to port 1 (as described above) & rotuer#2 uses port1 becuase the cable from uplink
on router#1 is using it. (OH - i hope that makes some sense!) So each 4-port router only
has 3 usable ports by systems & printer.

Is this right?

(and about 5 minutes later....)
ANYWAY, the last system I'm gonna have hooked up today is connected to router#2.....
and online. THANKS FOR THE TIP!

With some routers/switches there is a port shared with the uplink port so you may lose one usuable port.
