Active Directory Domain and Suse 10.1

Hey folks. not sure is this is the right spot for this question or not... i'll give it a swing anyways.

I Installed Suse 10.1 on a Dell GX 260 here at work. On install i joined the domain here at work (for arguements sake lets say the domain is AXE.cs.cx) It joins fine, shows up in AD... when i login with an account from the domain however, it logs in, then stops. no icons, no panel, nothing. Okay do a hard boot. Go back in to login, and the domain (AXE) is gone from the domain box. the only thing there is <local> .

Any ideas?

a follow up...

did kinit valid.username@AXE.CS.CX

it asked me for the password for the account, i put it in, and it worked.

Still having the issue with the startup screen though, and the domain not showing up in the domain box after the freeze. Any idea where i would lok for a log to show what it froze on? maybe that would be a place to start looking..

Default principal: valid.username@AXE.CS.CX

Valid starting Expires Service principal

klist: You have no tickets cached
valid.username@linuxtest:~>

it looks like i have a ticket, so i must be logging in.. so why isn't the domain name showing up in the domain box on the login screen? and why did it hang when i looged in just before it disappeared?

weird.. any ideas anyone?
