ACL doubt

My program is trying to enumerate the ACL of the target gateway in the network.... For this the OS/distro that i use must support ACL..... when i tried using Red Hat 9 , i found tht it's beta versions provided ACL support but the release does not...

Please advise which distro/version I should use in this case....

Thanks,

Kirti

RedHat 9 by today's standards is quite dated. Fedora Core 3 is the current offerings by redhat (which is sorta based on community involvement) and FC4 release is impending.

The other stuff I'm not sure what you are refering to. A more detailed description of the problem, protocol, software in use and the desired end result would be helpful. It does sound like an ipfilter issue, but with technology I try not to make a guess.

does fedora core allow us to install machine as router or gateway. we are working on firewalk which requires target gateway .

Those are simply functions of the kernel.

you can actually configure most distributions to function as a router.
