Accounting of DHCP based hotel clients

Hi all,

I have a situation that I am not sure how to handle and need help.
I have 50 DHCP based clients in one hotel and need to implment accounting in existing SQL based application using traffic flow for charging.
Finally, hotel decided tu aquire 2 x 26 port managed switch (HP ProCurve 26xx) with radius support and port authentification feature.
Linux 2.6 is acting as a firewall and squid transparent proxy (testing configuration).
Clients need to have web and mail (pop, smtp) services without any configuration of their laptops and possibly without authentification.
In scenario without authentification, they can be only tracked by MAC addresses and swithc VLAN SNMP logging (each client port will be separate VLAN including server port).
Trying to find most painless solution I am thinking about :
- integrating switch's SNMP + MRTG
- port auth feature + freeRadius (not sure cause I don't have switch yet to test it. can it do MAC auth on Radius server or need to put room number as a ID for specific port)
- some kind of Delegate proxy implementation (it proxies all proto needed here but don't know how to do accounting).

Please if you can think of something help is rally needed
All The Best!

Ivan
