Accessing windows machines' hard drives on the netowrk via shell

We have a centos machine running in our facility. We primarily use windowsxp machines to do our work. The windows machines are adequately networked. We can access each other hard drives by providing proper credentials and stuff. And I am aware this 'networking' is also possible from a linux pc to a windows pc. There is a gui program which does that (can't recollect its name). I mostly connect to the linux machine via a remote shell via putty from a windows machine. So I do not have access to the gui. How can I network and access files in the drives of other windows machines from the shell?

smbclient should do that for you. man smbclient.

Or just CIFS mounts - mounting the remote drive as a CIFS filesystem with the proper credentials will make it just show up as any other filesystem. I find it scary that you work in a "facility" at which CentOS is the OS of choice and can't figure this out for yourself - not even realising the protocol involved here (SMB/CIFS).
