Accessing pc with putty (ssh)

Hello,

I've got maybe a rather weird question but:

My brother has a pc with linux suse 10.0. He connects to the internet through a linksys router. Now how can I make his pc accessible for me by ssh (putty). Because I can't connect to his pc at the moment. It times out.
Does the 'server pc' also uses port 22?

Thx

Assuming the router is a NAT device, you'll need to forward the port 22 request to his pc which is behind the router (on a private network). Read the router's manual to figure this part out.

In addition, he needs to be running sshd on the SuSE machine, and he needs to open port 22 in SuSEfirewall2.
