access web on a laptop connected to a web-connected desktop

Yeah i know the title of the post is somewhat confusing, i apalogize

My desktop is connected to my ADSL modem via ethernet.
My laptop is connected to my desktop via ethernet too. I can ssh from one to the other without any problem.
My question is the following :
How can i have access to the web from the laptop? (through the desktop)

You would need to configure internet sharing. This article may help you out. You can also buy an adsl router so that you don't have to share the connection through another PC.

thank you very much... 'll try it as soon as possible.
I don't need to buy an adsl router, i need to share the connection only very occasionally (when my girlfriend's here and she needs to work).
