Access Mail But No Surfing The Net


The issue:

i have a lan.and some people have full access to the internet and others should be able only to take their mail...what do i have to do to limit them to mail only.

If your linix box is a gateway to the internet for other pcs then you can, but you can only restrict by mac address or IP. You can restrict with iptables or you can use a http proxy (squid). Using the proxy would also require you to block outgoing port 80 requests from the lan.
