Angry Aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh Dns

I idon't understand??? I'm running SuSE 7.3 personal. I followed the directions for setting up ADSL. I could connect, BUT there are sites that "time out". I have added DNSs to /etc/resolv.conf but they don't help.
If I check the connection status, it lists a DNS that sympatico did not give me? Yet when I do the same in Windows, it too lists this DNS. Could this really be a DNS problem?
I'm very new to Linux and don't havae a good understaning of networks, so I'm affraid that I may have messed something.

Any suggestions woudl be great.

Thanks,

Erik

You said that only "some" sites timeout? Can you ping them by IP address? Try a lookup with nslookup or dig buy name and see what you get. These will query the DNS directly.

So I tried to ping and nothing happens. Just hangs.
I tried nslookup and got:

***nsctor.bellnexxia.net can't find 63.236.73.100 server fail

Anything I can try or change?

Thanks,

Erik
