800 b/s to 50 k/s cable connection
I am running Mandrake 8.2 (kernel 2.4.18-6). My cable internet
connection has been inconsistent; it varies from 800 b/s to 50Kb/s. I have a 1/4 T-1 connection. I have been on with Cable One and they are telling me I have no thru-put. Here is what I have tried: Using another cable modem. Behaviour is the same. I went to a friend's house and plugged my computer in Same behaviour. Here is what I am trying to do, unless there are other suggestions I am trying to remove eth0. This is onboard a SiS motherboard. I am trying to enable eth1. This is a PCI NIC. What is happening: Both my NIC's are recognised, I can disable eth0 (onboard NIC) When I go to enable eth1 I get "Stop modprobe: can't locate module eth1" What I am being told? How do I resolve this problem? Or, I am going down the wrong path? Thanks |
can you post the contents of your /etc/modules.conf file.

Question
Do you get the same with windoze? If you do it's probably just to many on that connection. Gripe a little more.
I wish I had that though.   I have a dial-up and it's only 24K at max. I'm going to go have a good  now. Excuse me........... |
