I'm using Mandriva 2007 and kppp, a samsung a900, and sprint is my provider. After installing Mandriva, I fired up kppp and was able to get it to dial up and connect to the internet through my a900 cellphone, without any problems. When I tried it a second and subsequent times, it will no longer work. For other reasons, I needed to reinstall Mandriva, and the same thing happened- the first time I used kppp, it worked fine, and then it won't work again after that. When I try, this is what it says in the terminal window:
kppp: ERROR: write() in modem::writeline failed
kppp: ERROR: write() in modem::writeline failed
kppp: ERROR: write() in modem::writeline failed
