3Com Megahertz 3CCFE574BT LAN PCCard not detected - RH 9
I've been a Windogs user for ages.
Now I want to switch to Linux, and chose RedHat 9, but I can't get to work my 3Com Megahertz 3CCFE574BT LAN PCCard on my Toshiba Satellite2100. It was supposed to be detected when installing, but looks like it didn't. When at boot, I only get these messages: Linux Kernel Card Services 3.1.22 options: [pci] [cardbus] [pm] PCI: No IRQ known for interrupt pin A of device 00:13.0. PCI: No IRQ known for interrupt pin B of device 00:13.1. ds: no socket drivers loaded! I'm completely new on Linux and I don't know if I have to set some IRQs or something. Thanks in advance if you can help me. Keichi Minamoto (new newbie) |
I suggest you get a fresh pci.ids file.
You may only have to run update-pciids. I'm not sure if it's included or not in RH9.. Also, do you have a file in /etc/init.d/ called pcmcia* ? You may need to make sure it is starting in your runlevel, usu runlevel 5. Do chkconfig --list to see what is being started.. |
hey dis mite help you
hi dere,
I am also using dis 3com card and have got a solution... But da prb is dat you have to do it every time you restart ur system.. Well da thing is:- go to lib/modules/2.4.x(wat ever ur kernel version is)/kernel/drivers/pcmcia and dere run modprobe pcmcia_core modprobe i8235(full name except dat .o in all modules) modprobe ds den move to /lib/modules/2.4.x/kernel/drivers/net/pcmcia/ modprobe 3c574(full name except dat .o part) .. Den run "cardmgr" leave it for 5-10 secs.. Den use ip -a If you still have got prb, let me know.. Thank you:) |
