2 network cards, single network, load balancing?

I've had a pretty good hunt around for this on both google and on linuxquestions, but can't find how to do this anywhere...

I have a file server with dual intel gigabit network cards in the back. I want to be able to connect them both to the same gigabit switch and effectivley "load balance" any network activity through them, so they both share some of the load. Does anyone know where I should begin with this?

ie:

Code:

      Card 1 ---------        ------ Client
SERVER                  SWITCH ------ Client
      Card 2 ---------        ------ Client

Any help would be much appreciated.
