2 internet access out & 1 proxy in

Hi,

with my development server i have 2 different internetaccess.
2 network cards and at each there is 1 broadband router access attached. (the routers connect to the internet on their own.)
Now I would like to use router1 by default.

In addition to this, I would like to use this server as a proxy server. So other PC can use it for internet access if they are veryfied (ideally pw authentication). For the outgoing internet access by the proxy clients the server must use the 2nd router(alternative internet access).

After seeking the internet for this issue, I worry about the big number of software, some are a bit out of date. However, I do not know which is best. What would You recommend for my case?
Or is there a specific name for such a network solution? So I can try to find a tutorial which works and is not out of date.

Thank You very much,
regards

I would recommend squid.
it can also do load-balancing the two network interfaces.

As of browsing only through NIC 1, you have to just setup the default gateway appropriately.
