Hi everyone,

I'm using Mandrake 10 and I want to ask some expert about Bash shell script which control Apache & Bind BNS .

My goal is write a shell scipt (or PHP script) that will add/edi/remove/control records & properties of Apache & DNS config file.

This scripts allow root do something :

- add/edit/remove/control a new domain / virtual host / virtual server on Apache web server

- add/edit/remove/control some records ( A, MX, NS, etc.. records of DNS)

- etc.. (e.g: web uage statistic/counter; event log, )

So, can you help me or give some useful advises. I'm newbies on Linux.

Pls reply my thread or send me a mes at: viet.buiquoc@gmail.com ; as soon as possible.

Thanks a lot !!!

Have you done manually, these things you are trying to do with scripts?

The first piece of advice I have is that you ought to do this, if you haven't.

The second thing is to separate your work into two areas: one for Apache and the other for DNS.

The third suggestion is that you restate your question. Are you really looking for advice or are you looking for somneone to do it for you? If you are looking for advice, explain the problem you are having, post the source that is relate to the problem and ask questions that pertain to these things.

Firstly, thank you, Mr JohnBoy

I'm sorry about my English. It's very bad (I'm Vietnamese and newbies on Linux). I'm looking for both (someone to do and advisers).

I want to build a multi-choices menu by Bash shell script on MandrakeLinux. User types "1" or "2" to choose "Apache Manager" or "DNS Manager".

Ex: when user types "1", this sub-menu will be show:

==============
* Apache Manager *
==============

1. Add/Edit/Remove virtual host
2. Add/Edit/Remove virtual server
3. Add/Edit/Remove virtual directory
3. Edit default settings
4. Start/Stop/Restart Apache

Pls enter a number :

========================

and as show above (and same to DNS Manager).depends on user's number, sub-menu or actions will appear

Because i'm newbies, so I think that, this script will help me & newbies more useful & fun with Linux.That's my goal!

Any body can write it for me?
