torrent softwares are running at very low speed

Sir I am Rupesh. I am using HTC Flyer tab and running internet using Vodafone 2g data plan in India. I have downloaded some torrents from net and tried to download files using bittorrent and atorrent softwares. They are downloading files at the speed of 189 bytes per second and peak download speed is 6kbps. Inorder to download 1GB file it would take about 3 years and at sometimes about 5 weeks. I have checked internet download speed using speedtest software and noticed download speed of 178kbps, upload speed about 51kbps. Other files like YouTube videos downloading at reasonable speed.

Please solve my problem.

Regards,
Rupesh.

this just sounds like general torrent stuff. if people aren't seeding on fast connections, you won't get a fast download. Alternatively your ISP could well be mesing with your speeds on certain ports. None of this should have any bearing on Linux though.

I forget to mention that I am running android on HTC FLYER. I am using this tab instead of laptop because of its light weight.

Same torrents are downloading on pc's fine. You can ask that why can't you download using pc and my answer is I am in a remote place where internet facility not available and so I am trying to download some important torrents using my Android tab which is taking too much time.

Can you specify what's problem either with my tab or with internet service provider.

The pc connection is most likely different than your android network so you really cannot compare them to your tablet.

if you're on the same internet connection, then it's reasonable that they should get a similar performance, however torrents use different peers and work in a mysterious way. Can you compare the actual peers you are connecting to?

Have you tried going into the settings of the torrent software and increasing the download and upload limits? They usually can be easily adjusted, however devices on the same network will crawl when it comes to internet access.

The most common cause of poor torrent download rates is a firewall or router port forwarding setting that does not allow incoming connections to the torrent client's listening port. Your apparent unwillingness to share what you have downloaded gets you treated badly by your peers in the swarm.
