The new Nexus 7 is awesome

I went to the google play store and saw the new Nexus 7 tablet. This tablet has excellent specs for a low startup price.

I'm not including any links to it because it would be considered as advertisement and that is a LQ rule that is not allowed.

Are you planning on buying one?

I have one the original Nexus 7's and have been rather pleased with it. However I don't see myself upgrading to the next generation Nexus 7. There is not enough difference between the two to justify the cost.

Yes I am going to buy one.

I believe there are some major differences between the old and new. The display is better, the CPU is faster and more powerful, a rear camera is added, surround sound speakers, dual band wifi. Anyway below are the specs for the new nexus 7.

Good tablet but yet they still refuse to put a microSD card slot. Bumper...

Second, 16GB is not enough because this tablet will use almost half of it. The norm these days should be 32GB as the stating size and 64 as the second option.

May be a silly question, but what do people do with a Nexus 7? I have 2 Windows tablets (at least they were, before I wiped it off) and a Kindle Fire I use for reading, but I have no idea what I would do with a regular Android tablet. Someone please enlighten me. :)

propofol 08-02-2013 02:52 AM

Web browsing
Email
GPS / map / navigation / check traffic
Listen to music - bluetooth speaker
Read a book (Kindle)
Reference pdf's with protocol for use at work
Database to keep a log
Watch netflix / videos
ssh to home/work pc
Games / drawing - keeps the kids amused for a while when they get bored
Skype

I bought the new Nexus 7 as soon as it came out. I find it very useful, but it does not replace my desktop pc at home / work. Tablets work better for viewing info than creating something. I never saw the point of Windows tablets though.

All this and more. There are hundreds of thousands of apps in the Googe PLay store which could add functionality and productivity to an android tablet

Sure. $229.99 at Walmart and Newegg.com.

Edit: How much will it sell for in Turkey?

mertkumru 08-15-2013 11:32 PM

for Turkey, it's not on sale yet. but i guess pre-order price will be at least twice as that.
