Smile Tata photon plus not working on Fedora 4 Linux pc


Dear all,
I am using Tata photon plus (Huawei EC1260 device) USB modem to access the Internet. But it was detecting as usb-mass storage device.
Any help or any documents or any drivers to peruse this problem

Fedora 4 reached end of life something like 5 years ago. You're going to have no end of trouble with almost any new-ish hardware. The driver for this modem wasn't included in the kernel until 2.6.20, FC 4 has what, a 2.6.11 kernel? (And even 2.6.20 is kind of ancient now.) Upgrade to a currently maintained release and your problems with likely vanish or at least be far more easily solved.

Tata photon plus is not officially supported on Linux, searching Google with the following keywords may give something to read upon:

Why on earth you are using Fedora core 4? :O
Its dead.

it looks like the op is having ALL KINDS of problems DO to the fact that fedora 4 is 5 years dead

install a SUPPORTED operating system !!!
centOS 5.5 is a very stable and good one
fedora 14 ( the current -- yes YOU ARE 10 VERSIONS OUT OF DATE ) good but in 4 to 5 months fedora 15 will be out

Although, i am not sure if it will work on Fedora 4 or not but you can still try once. I have made it run on Fedora 8. All the Best....
