Hi guys , I just bought Lg kp500 . I though its cool thing but its just a phone with fancy screen . thats all .
so i think is it posible to put Linux OS on it ? maybe making a diferent Distribution that will work on also and Samsung star ? because these phone are somehow similar and there is milions of them sold ...
so anyway , just asking is it posible ? someone said it roon on ARM 200 mhz procesor and has 32 mb of ram but , and that their firmvare is based on WIN MO .
whats the problem to not do it ? some drivers that LG probably wont hand me ?
You'll need to know a bit more about the hardware on the phone than just the processor, although the ARM is a supported architecture, so you're alright there.
32 MB of RAM might suffice . . . what is the total storage available on the phone?
More importantly, what are you wanting the kernel to do with the phone once it boots? Run apps? Like what?
well it is 48 MB total + micro sd/sdhc
how ever i thre is mistery how the files are stored there - folders , etc.
guys still didnt hack it fully .
well talking about apps , i think it would be nice to make direct apps , not JAVA one , because JAVA aps are very slow , on LG kp500 they cant use camera , are somehow limited ...
