My cell phone is Nokia 5310 XpressMusic and my linux version Ubuntu 9.10 (karmic). My laptop is Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo Pa2510 with an amd 64-bit processor.

When I use the USB cable to connect the mobile with the laptop, everything is ok. It's just plug'n'play and I use the external memory like as a usb flash driver to transfer photos, video, music.
All I want is to transfer contacts and more specially I want to transfer sms. Is there a way to do that?
I have also installed Wammu application but I can't get my phone connected.

Any advice or opinion would be helpfull.

Gnokii may be what you want for this. Read through the documentation before installing - it should be in the Ubuntu repositories.

I installed Xgnokki through the Ubuntu Software Center and I didn't managed to get my mobile connected. The documentation didn't helped me at all. Thanks for your reply anyway.

I also tried Phone Manager and KMobileTools but nothing happened.
