Locked out of android phone and need help recovering files.
I forgot my pin code to get into my Samsung galaxy s II. I've called Bell and they said the phone is now completely locked and I'll have to do a factory reset, which will delete everything. How can I recover my files before I do the reset? I had the auto connect thing turned off so when I connect it to a linux system via usb it doesn't automatically pull up the files. Normally I would have to unlock the phone and hit connect with usb in the phone itself, but I can't do that now cause im locked out of the phone.
You can use ADB tool from Google. It is in platform tools. There is also a graphical utility QtADB which has functionality of copying installed applications and browse filesystem.
If your phone has a micro-SD card and you have files on it, remove the card, put it in a adapter, and jack it into your computer. You might be able to mount it on the computer and copy any files on the card to your HDD.
The phone is locked or unlocked? Rooted or unrooted? I am sure the method 100 works but i did followed the tutorial recover deleted photos from s5) to recover deleted files from my Galaxy S5. However, i can access my phone via usb debugging and got it rooted before. My suggestion is to give it a try and to see whether it works or not.

HanertyKas, welcome to LQ. Usually we like folks to post a bit about them in the introduction forum. As you can see this thread is basically old and out of date.
