Factory reset of android phone

If I do factory reset,
will the photos in DCIM folder be deleted?
My ringtones?

All installed third party softwares will be deleted, their directories also gone?

Knightron 04-23-2013 09:42 AM

yes

future_computer 04-23-2013 10:10 AM

I did that before,
e.g. the 360 Camera root directory is still there, not deleted?

Offtopic: future_computer, I have seen that you are posting a couple of questions about Android in the last days. I would suggest that you ask those questions on our sister forum, AndroidQuestions.org, it may be possible that you will get more/better/faster answers there. You can use your LQ username and password to log in on that forum.

This is common sense, but in this case the description of this subforum should be updated:
Code:

Linux - Mobile This forum is  for the discussion of all topics relating to Mobile Linux.  This  includes Android, [...].

Not really. There is nothing wrong with asking Android questions here, since Android is a Linux distribution. You can ask even Windows questions on LQ (on the appropriate sub-forum). Nonetheless it makes more sense for to go to a forum specific for the OS in question. By the way, you can ask questions about the Android OS here and at Android Questions, different forums, so no double posting rule. I wouldn't encourage that, it is better to keep the discussion in one place, but it is possible and allowed.

There's an option on factory reset that only installed application will be remove not the user file.
