my question was:
wine version 16/32/64 emulator
1.1.23-1fc10 i386
all packages installed
computer
AOA 110-1722
Model # gz5
reconditioned with blue tooth
ccae06lp130t1
running on
kernel linux 2.6.27.25-170.272.fc10.i686
processor Intel r atom CPU n270 @1.60
atheros ar5bxb63
the problem:
cricket a600 EDVO usb modem
according to the company this type of modem doesn't have linux capabilities.
however it is also stated that it doesn't have wifi router support either which
I have gotten to work f1
I decided to try installing this modem into the above-mentioned computer.
as to be expected the autorun prompt offers assistance with no avail.
I then went into the .exe files and used the above mentioned wine program installer.
by all accounts it is installed and it looks like it should operate as it does on my
windows XP home
hp pavillion 1230ze
however when I hit the connect button I notice "no device" on the connection window.
I am able to access the tools menu and others as well so I do a search for the device
I can even access the other menus the Internet button gives off an error.
by all accounts it is obvious to me that there is only a few files or folders missing in the wine program to make this all work. problem is I don't know what they are and where to find them.
F1
Connect an eithernet wire from the host computer in my case XP home hp pavilion 1230ze to the Internet receiver eithernet port on the router in my case netgear wgr614v8
Then in the network connections left click the EDVO modem properties in the share this device area select eithernet wire or the LAN
Set up a network as you desire.
