desktop calendars that are compatible w/Android Calendar--need to sync w/out google
I have an Android with the stock calendar. It would be useful to remotely put calendar events on the sdcard, and then import them into the Android Calendar app. I have no interest in telling Google my schedule.
What Debian linux app can produce files that can be directly read by Android Calendar?
I see these apps in the apt repositories:
Iceape, Iceowl, pal, xcal, wyrd, xdkcal, ccal..
(edit) in case anyone else goes down this path, this is what I've found so far -- "pal" cannot export in a usable format. Iceowl (aka mozilla sunbird) can export ICS files (but not from the commandline; only in the GUI).
There are two Android apps for the importing: "ICS Importer", and "iCal Import/Export". ICS Importer can only handle one event per file. If there are multiple events in one ICS file, it silently ignores them.
"iCal Import/Export" works, but it is huge. It wastes 1.9MB of precious internal memory and cannot be moved to the SD card. It also does not let you specify an ics file. Users are forced to wait while the app searches the whole SD card. Even a small 2GB SD card takes a long time to search.
