Blackberry 9300 on Ubuntu as usb modem?

Hello all,

Just got myself a BlackBerry 9300 3g and was thinking of getting 3g service as well.
If just I could use my BB on Ubuntu as usb modem so that I could be on net even when travelling.

Has anyone tried BB as modem?

Regards
Chaitanya

Hello!

I haven't tried a BlackBerry, but for regular 3g-modems you would use something called "USB Modeswitch". You could check if that supports BlackBerry? It's part of the software repository of most distributions, and you can find more information about it and what hardware is known to work with it at http://www.draisberghof.de/usb_modeswitch/
