Trinity on Mint 9?

Hi. I've been reading lots of good things about Mint lately and would like to try it. However, I need to know: can anyone confirm success with installing Trinity on Linux Mint 9?

Thanks in advance.

Well, Mint 9 is based on Ubuntu 10.04 so the instructions for Lucid ought to work.

Well, it seems nobody had the answer to this one. I actually installed Mint 9 on hard disk and now I have the answer. The answer is NO, Mint 9 is NOT compatible with Trinity/KDE 3.5.

Trinity installs and runs fine on Mint 9 at first, but then I needed to install the kernel source and build-essential packages to build kernel modules and make VMWare work. That's the end of all joy. Either package forces COMPLETE removal of KDE 3.5. Amazing, but true.

You've been warned. Marking as SOLVED. Let it be in the archives for posterity.
