Telstra Turbo Wireless Modem (Sierra) not seen by Gloria

Hullo,
Mint7 on friend's 256RAM (or64,depends where I look).
His new Turbo modem doesnt show up (unless it's the "2.5Gb media" I see under "Computer")
No interface to work with, and just no sign in the connection dropdown on the taskbar.
My Optus modem works fine.
The modem lights: one constant blue, the other flashing blue.
This naturally is not included in the light code in the booklet lol.
We rang telstra and after a long time of bad music, well, you know..

I'm wondering if there's a modem management tool I can get from repositories. I couldn't see one.
Or any helpful commandline suggestions.
Anything would be pretty good. Thanks. Widda

you certainly won't get any support from BP
they have a MoU with M$, - they won't even support FF !.

the best angle to take, is to see if the modem is a a sierra wireless,
and try to fire it up from that way.Optus often uses a similar technology,
and what worked for them, may be able to tweaked for the new modem.

Thanks Pierre, haha I was guessing that mcr$ft & BP had a deal.
It is a sierra and the sierra website do offer a tar packaged driver for linux! Process has been interrupted by other circumstances, but meantime will follow yr technology link.

Could've sworn I saw that word technology in blue and underlined. Must be sleep time.
