Slingshot Applet

I have searched around and also posted on the Mint forums. However this forum appears much more busy so I am posting here too.

I am interested in using the Slingshot applet menu in Cinnamon without an icon and just using text. On the standard mint menu this is possible by selecting custom icon and leaving it blank. However this is not possible with slingshot. I tried using a 1x1 transparent png but it did not give me the results I desired,

I have also looked at /usr/share/cinnamon/applets/ for Slingshot to see if I could manually edit it and found nothing. If anyone has help with this, it would be appreciated!
