Raw thumbnails

Hi there,

Is there a way to navigate through my pictures in Raw format (Canon .CR2) directly in the window manager. I do not want to open Gthumb or such.
I use 17.1 Cinnamon.

Thank you :-)

P.S.: I installed gnome-raw-thumbnailer and it does not work

if "Unidentified Flying RAW " dose not see it
then install the proprietary software from the camera maker for their proprietary format

these files ARE NOT a "raw" image
the PR and advertising dept. called them raw ( and it stuck )
a raw image has
No header
no metadata
no proprietary data layout

it is a single line or gridded binary 8 bit,or 16 bit or 32 bit data
or gridded ascii csv

i work with real "raw" images almost everyday
most though have detached headers or the file name explains the image or a AAREADME file dose

just an example :

http://pds-geosciences.wustl.edu/mgs...gt90n000cb.img
that image is a 16 bit SIGNED MSB integer that has a with x height of 1440 x 720
( mars topographic map from the laser altimeter )
there is a detached header but that is a ".raw" or sometimes called a .bin or as this example a .img

Hi all,

Thank you for coming back promptly. I have tried UFRAW, it did not work!
I am frankly surprised as previews (thumbnails) are native in many distro I had in the past. I am not computer litterate, I just would like it to work the easy way.
If no "add-on" work, maybe a turn around ?
Thank you again,
david
