No sound from linux mint
Been running linux mint for about 6 months. Sound has been working, rhythmbox working too, no problems. A couple days ago rhythmbox hung and I had to reboot the system, ever since no sound on reboot or using rhythmbox.
Can someone PLEASE help me, I miss my music.
Thanks
Bob

What is the output of 'lspci | grep -i audio'? And 'lsmod | grep snd'?

Well the sound modules are loaded for your card. What is the output of 'aplay -l'? If you run 'alsamixer' are any of the channels muted?

aplay -l
**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
card 0: I82801DBICH4 [Intel 82801DB-ICH4], device 0: Intel ICH [Intel 82801DB-ICH4]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 0: I82801DBICH4 [Intel 82801DB-ICH4], device 4: Intel ICH - IEC958 [Intel 82801DB-ICH4 - IEC958]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
alsamixer looks fine, nothing out of the ordinary.

Do you have a .wav file on your system that you can run 'aplay' on to see if you hear anything?
