No Panels in Gloria gnome

Hi, I am newly installed: x86_64, mint 7, Gnome

I have been Googling and looking on the Mint forums but can't find an answer.

When I boot up I have no panels. If I log out and change the session to Gnome then they are back, but they are not autostarting.

I have installed Mint 7 with dual boot XP.
Panels came up automatically, however I find that if I right click on a blank portion of the "band" at the bottom of the screen (or top if there is one there instead of the bottom) a menu should come up to allow setting a panel, then by right clicking on the boxes add to them and other stuff.
Hope this helps
