Question mount dual session cd ubuntu 16.04

I entered that as a Google search string and got these (see attached image) as hits in reply. {By "ubuntu 16.04" read "Linux Mint 18.3"} Reasonable? Likely. Helpful? Not at all.

So I figured I'd ask here, since I have one data CD of which I haven't seen the first session (only the second mounts) since my last Mac died (power supply failure, G4 Dual MDD, US build) in 2008. I'd like to mount that first session, copy the data -- if any proves useful or usable -- trash the original CD after burning a new CD (with all of the data) in a single session.

Can it be done? If so, how?

Or am I using the wrong terminology?

I used the search string linux mount multiple-session cd and the first result indicates using the mount session=x option.

Thank you. Sometimes it's all in the phrasing.

Indeed. Can you let us know how you get on and, if successful, the exact commands that you used to access the data.

By the way, slip of the keyboard, but Linux Mint 18.3 isn't around yet, we're only on 18.1 at the moment.
