Mint-Cinnamon menus and panels
This computer had Ubuntu 12.10 with a program to get rid of Unity and replace it with something similar to the Gnome2 panels and menu (gnome-session-fallback/gnome-panel?).
I have installed Mint-Cinnamon, it was very simple and quick. The hot-corner doesn't work, I don't get the Cinammon menu, just the desktop. I expect that my bodge of Ubuntu has left configuration files around or messed about with the window manager.
Is there something I should do using gconf-editor or should I delete some configuration files?

Please do not suggest that I do a backup and restore, because my options would be either:
1) backup all normal and no hidden files - in which case I would lose things I want.
2) backup all normal and all hidden files - in which case I would keep the problem.
3) backup all normal and the safe hidden files but not the dodgy hidden files - this implies that I find out which is which. In that case I might as well just delete the dodgy ones.
