LMDE install problems
Hey all,
I'm trying to get LMDE up as a duel boot with Ubuntu. I have 4 partitions
0: 20gb Ubuntu /
1: 20gb LMDE /
2: a shared ext4 data partition
3: 2gb swap
Most of the way through the installation it looks like its freezing when copying var/cache/apt-xapain-index/index.2/termlist.db
This happened twice now, I'm trying to install for a third time as I type this. Any idea on why this is sticking? how to get past it?

There was not an option for screen resolution, I got options for keyboard and timezone. I used the livecd for the installation.

Reload in The Opposite Order
For some reason I have found the the Ubunto family of distros seems to work best if it is installed after another distro is already up and running. Here this would involve a full disc installation of Mint first then an installation of Ubunto. I don't know why but sometimes I have had to to it this way to get things to work properly on older machines. Good luck. Michael
