Linux Mint persistence install with settings

Hi there,

I am from Ubuntu, it got an USB installer that allows settings and user files backup to flash drive, so nothing will be lost after reboot, but I don't know how to do it with Linux Mint, it also got an USB installer but the settings and user files won't save. I know I could create a persistence file to back up my files, but it won't backup my settings, does it ?
