Linux Mint 7 Software Index Broken
Hey there, first time poster and relative noob here, and I have a problem. I'm running Linux Mint 7, and recently recieved an error that my software index is broken. I can't install, update, or modify any new packages. I've already tried the solution of entering sudo apt-get install -f in a terminal, and this is the output I get.
~ $ sudo apt-get install -f Reading package lists... Error! E: Malformed 3rd word in the Status line E: Error occurred while processing libfuse2 (UsePackage2) E: Problem with MergeList /var/lib/dpkg/status E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened. Any help possible would be greatly appreciated, though if need be, I could back up my work and preform a clean install. |
Try running Package Manager <synaptic>
then click on Edit - Fix Broken Packages. if that has no errors, then click on Reload. |
