Linux Mint 18.1 Display and Freezing Issues
Hi All,
I recently installed Linux Mint 18.1 on a new hard drive.
I'm experiencing a display problem (known in Firefox, I'll have to check if it occurs in other programs) and a freezing problem.
The display issue has to do with with my text becoming distorted and unreadable and an occasional bunch of small dots that flicker on and off the screen. I don't know how else to describe it.
The freezing issued consists of either my entire system freezing or everything freezing except my ability to move the cursor in its text-input state. In other words, the cursor state that freezes is not an arrow, it is a thin vertical line with a horizontal thin "bar" on both the top and bottom of the vertical line.
I've been using Firefox almost exclusively and haven't been running any other programs, so maybe it is a Firefox related issue. I'll do some investigation. If anyone is familiar with these issues, I'd appreciate you sharing what you know.
TIA...
Update: White dots appear on black sections of the screen and black dots appear on white sections of the screen. It also tends to happen while I'm scrolling.
