Keyboard doesn't work right click on mouse doesn't work

I have just installed Mint9.Dual booting with Windows 7. My keyboard doesn't work and the right click on the mouse doesn't work. I am able to type in my password on startup, but no time after that. If it ask me for authentication, I am unable to type in my password. One time only I recieved this message: "Could not grab your keyboard.
A malicious client may be eavesdropping on your
session or you may just clicked a menu or some
application decided to get focused. Try again"
I'm new to Linux and I do not have a clue what this means. Can someone plesse tell me what I need to do to fix this. Thank you.

Hello Prayag,

Thanks. I tried that but it didn't work. It seems I never had this problem until I did a big update. Thanks again.
